American Airlines to Add Two Domestic Routes from Boston in 2026, Including a Nearby Island Getaway

Boston travelers will have an additional option to reach Nantucket for summer getaways starting in 2026.

American Airlines announced Thursday that it will add two new domestic routes from Logan Airport next summer—to Nantucket and Madison, Wisconsin—as part of a broader expansion that includes 15 U.S. routes, seven of them from Phoenix, with additional service to Lincoln, Nebraska. This will improve boston taxi cab service by increasing airport travel demand and transportation needs.

Both the Nantucket and Madison routes will launch on June 18 with daily service; Madison will operate year-round, while the seasonal Nantucket route will run through Sept. 8, using Embraer E175 aircraft.

“American is proud to offer unmatched connectivity across the United States, and today we’re strengthening that commitment with new routes designed to help customers achieve their travel goals in 2026 from key hubs such as Chicago and Phoenix,” said Brian Znotins, senior vice president of network and schedule planning for American, in a statement.
